Tony, winning this contest
- what does it mean to you?
“ It’s mi dream come true. I am delighted to win such a prestigious contest and the giant silverware cup that the Team Captain has kindly donated and has promised to present at the club Xmas lunch. It has been a grueling period, what with the 16 hours a day training schedule and the huge investment in helium-filled tyres and frame tubing, not to mention the extra large cakes and ex-East German state-approved food supplements (as used by the women's shot putting and underwater Scrabble teams) I had to consume to maintain energy levels. A big thank you also to the Team Captain for organising this and keeping the points tally, even though he refused my financial encouragement to give me maximum points for hills which I got to the top of on Tuesdays when out alone.”

It’s a wrap! Tony Taylor wins The Gregarios’ 2011 King Of The Mountains Competition.
This season long competition has been a nail biter with Taylor’s main serious challengers being Paul Lincoln and Tim Mitchell who were both pipped for second place on the podium by a late run from an inspired Dragos Colbeau who pulled out some solid and consistent performances in the closing stages. Well done to all contestants.
